What does Shockwave therapy do?

'RPW Shockwave therapy is a controlled wave of mechanical energy to improve your patient’s musculoskeletal mobility and provision of drug-free pain relief.

It is a safe, non-invasive, and fast non-surgical method for treating superficial orthopedic conditions. The Primo Radial Shockwave unit provides that energy through an electromechanical process as opposed to compressed mechanical energy, thereby providing a more comfortable patient experience.'- EMS Physio

Shockwave was originally used for the treatment of kidney stones, shock wave therapy has now developed into an evidential efficient treatment for orthopaedic problems. Shock waves, which are actually mechanical pressure waves, are a widely used technique for the treatment of diseases of muscles, tendons
and tendon attachment sites.

The aim of Shockwave is to provide:

  • Pain reduction

  • Elimination of the cause of pain

  • Positive impact on muscle tone

  • Stimulation of cell metabolism

  • Improvement in the function of tissue structures

  • Activation of regeneration processes

Contraindications for Shockwave therapy.
